Health Center

The Peru State College Health Center is dedicated to providing high quality and convenient medical, and health education services for the Peru State College student body. We believe that good health is of utmost importance to academic success, as well as quality of life. Our staff is here to help you to get better, stay well, and meet the challenges of academic life by minimizing class absences and study time lost to illness and injury.

We invite you to take advantage of your health facility and the many services we provide on campus.

Confidentiality

Medical care and counseling are confidential. Medical and counseling records are kept separately from academic records. Peru State College does not release information outside of the health center without your written permission, except upon court order, in cases of certain communicable diseases (as required by law), or as required, in our judgment, to protect you or others from immediate physical danger.

Appointment Times with Physicians

It is very important that you schedule an appointment in advance to see the doctor. Physicians may be needed in Auburn and will not come to Peru if they have no scheduled patient appointments. Appointments with our physicians may be scheduled by calling 402-872-2229 or emailing healthcenter@peru.edu.

  • Tuesday 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
  • Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Appointments

Regular appointments are scheduled for chronic problems such as headaches, back pain, sleeping problems, joint pain, allergies, dermatological problems, or medication refills.

If you have a health problem that cannot wait for a regular appointment, call the Health Center at 402-872-2229 to schedule a same day appointment to see the nurse. Be sure to call the Health Center promptly if you are unable to keep an appointment, so other students can benefit.

Local physicians are contracted from the Auburn Family Health Center, Auburn, NE.

The Peru State College Health Center offers a Family Planning Clinic held the 4th Tuesday of each month, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Family Planning Clinic offers basic physicals which include blood pressure, weight, hemoglobin, breast exams, pap smears, STD screening and testing, pregnancy tests, birth control methods and education.

Immunizations

PROOF OF MEDICAL IMMUNIZATIONS IS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION
A Peru State College Health and Counseling Form will be sent to admitted students. This form must be completed and signed by the student, and/or parent if the student is under 19 years of age. The Peru State College Health and Counseling Form will ask students to provide proof of the following:
